Screen Capture Shortcuts on OS X

I need to take screenshots occasionally but always forget how to do it and have to look it up each time. So here are the magic incantations:
  • Command-Shift-3 - Full screenshot to a file (png) on the desktop.
  • Command-Shift-4 - Take a copy of a part of the screen selected via a crosshair mouse cursor and save it to a file on the desktop.
If Control is held down as well as the keys above then the image is saved to the clipboard rather than a file.

If you want to take a picture of a single window, menu or icon: Select it, use Command-Shift-4 and when you see the crosshair press the spacebar. The mouse changes to a camera and you can simply hover over the thing you want an image of and click.

Project Euler

I got into using this site called Project Euler to help me brush up on my Python and maths skills. I reckon it would also be a really good resource to use when learning a new language as I tend to find that when doing so I need something to solve to keep me interested. I struggle to invent such little problems myself so this is a site I really like.
